Today's Hot News

- The latest news came from Burma that the leading ABFSU leader Kyaw Ko Ko was freed from yesterday raided by military dogs. But the news is unconfirmed until now.

- Rumors had spread out that a film star Kyaw Thu and his wife were arrested this morning. Ko Kyaw Thu took a leading role during the early days of protests in Rangoon along with Ko Zagana, a leading comedian and film director and Ko Aung Wai, a leading poet. Ko Zagana has been now in detention while Ko Aung Wai has been hiding.

- One of 88-generation student leaders Ko Hla Myo Naung was arrested this afternoon, while he was going to see a doctor for check on his eyes. Ko Hla Myou Naung faced serious problem on his eyes and needed emergency operation so that he emerged from his hiding place before arrested.

- Students and youth launched a poster campaign near San Pya market, Thingangun Township in Rangoon this morning about 8:45am.

- Military thugs tried to seize two monks in public place in Rangoon yesterday. But people shout and were able to save monks, luckily.

- The report from inside said NLD Youth member Ko Win Shwe, 42-year-old from Kyaukpadaung, Mandalay division, had died at detention center. He was arrested along with five other colleagues on 26th Sept. His family was informed by authorities about 3 days ago that he had died and his bady was already cremated at the detention center.

- The security forces have become more severe in raiding houses of and searching for anyone whom they suspect to have been involved in the protests. Not only family members and relatives, but also neighbors have been threatened to turn in those who are on the run. Since October 8 until today (10 Oct morning), at least 5 more people have been arrested in
Rangoon.

- Another Burmese diplomat, Burmese Ambassador to
Australia was on the Australian radio speaking out against the beating and shooting of monks. He defects and applies for asylum. The authorities have imposed more restrictions on the Embassies staff abroad in fear of possible more defects after two ambassadors defeated the junta.

- Ban Ki Moon, UN SG, made a phone called today to Laura Bush, the first lady of United States, saying thanks to her for her efforts of resuming democracy in Burma and explaining about the current works done by UNSC on Burma.
